It's Not About a Bunny!

We had a great Easter weekend filled with egg hunts, yummy goodies inside the eggs from those egg hunts, lots of food, a wonderful church service and just good times with friends and family!  Did I mention the egg hunts?  We acquired quite a supply of plastic eggs this year...I mean, seriously, we should be set for a couple of years!  Brian and I were laughing about how the girls got to participate in like four egg hunts (and that's not counting all of the "practice" egg hunts in the backyard), and how compared to our childhood, we were lucky if we got to have one!  My favorite, though, was the glow-in-the-dark egg hunt here at our house!  We just painted a bunch of plastic eggs with glow-in-the-dark paint and waited for the sun to go down!  The kids loved it, especially since they got to use flashlights!

Egg hunts aside, this Easter was especially neat just simply because of the girls' understanding of what Easter is really about, or not about (hint: it's not about a bunny).  We ended up watching part of the old movie The Ten Commandments with the girls on Saturday night and Lauren was just fascinated!  Throughout the movie, she would turn to Meghan and explain what was going on since she already knew the story of Moses from also reading it in her Bible...it was too cute!  And I am loving how Meghan has been ending her prayers lately by saying "and thank you that Jesus died on the cross for our sins."  I love that my girls have hearts for Jesus!
