Catch & Release

A couple of weeks ago, the girls got to release the butterflies that we grew here at our house. We originally started out with 5 caterpillars, and I give all thanks to God for this, TWO actually emerged...one for each of the girls. They were thrilled the morning they got up and walked into the kitchen to see little flutters going on inside the butterfly house. As we went outside to set them free, the catch and release of those two butterflies caught my attention...As Lauren released her butterfly, I noticed that it flew directly to one of the bushes in our backyard and just hung out there for awhile, which like Lauren, showed independence yet sticking close to home. Then as I watched Meghan release her butterfly, it instantly took off with the wind, fluttering so freely, which is just like Meghan who is definitely my little freebird...it was simply amazing!

Pomp and Circumstances

Three days after getting home from St Thomas, I became a proud momma of a 1st grader! It seems like just yesterday I was crying over just the thought of Lauren starting Kindergarten...and now, Kindergarten has come and gone! Lauren has always been a little too big for her britches, but she has simply amazed me in all that she learned during this past school year...She is an awesome little reader (she has even tried to get a hold of my copy of Twilight) and LOVES making up math facts and solving them on her own! With all of this also means Meghan is getting closer to starting Kindergarten (2010...wow!) ...and she amazes me as well because even though she is 4 and doing all of these big girl things, I still see her as my baby! It's the little things like this that make me appreciate summer even more...taking in as many precious moments as I can with these sweet little girls of mine:)

St Thomas

We just got back from St Thomas a couple of weeks ago where we went for Ali & Brandon's wedding...Lauren & Meghan were the flower girls, of course! It's gorgeous there...something you see in magazines. Going to a place like that just always leaves me in awe of what God created! The wedding on the beach was beautiful, although I couldn't help but be a little distracted by where we were! It was a fun time with family and friends...I'm so glad the girls were there and that my mom got to go, too! Great memories were definitely made:)

Magen's Bay

Love Lauren's expression here...the stingray had just jumped partially up out of the water!
