Spring Break

I've gotta fever...spring fever!  We headed down to San Antonio this year for spring break, as opposed to our annual ski trip.  I missed being in the mountains, but I loved being somewhere a little warmer for a change!  We stayed at a resort in the hill country and had an absolute blast!  The girls got to swim, play in the lazy river, do a gummy bear hunt (there was chocolate pudding involved with this), ride ponies, roast s'mores...and, well, I got to go to the spa (that's very important, you know)!  After a couple of days of relaxation, we headed to downtown San Antonio, where we ate on the Riverwalk, did the boat ride and visited the Alamo.  Lauren was especially excited about going to the Alamo and seeing a piece of Texas history since they have talked about it at school.  As a kid, I remember going to San Antonio alot with my Dad, and every time we went, we always walked through the wax museum that sits directly across from the Alamo...I couldn't pass up on sharing this tradition with my family.  The girls seemed to enjoy it, especially since Hannah Montana was there...and I got to sit and chat with Oprah!  It's funny how we see things so differently as a child verses being a grown-up.  For example, I always thought the Alamo was bigger or that the house of horrors inside the wax museum was really scary...nope, not so much.  I feel so blessed for the memories that we are making together...Thank you God for my sweet family!

My Sweet Birthday Girls!

I can't believe my girls are 7 and 5...and as much fun as we are having, this year's birthdays have been a little hard on this momma!  It seems they are growing up faster than I can keep up with...and thank goodness they still let me cuddle them every now and then!  What joy they bring to me everyday in their own little special ways!  As far back as I can remember, I wanted to be a mommy.  Growing up, I don't think I played with baby dolls much, but I just always knew that I wanted to be a mommy with "real" babies (almost as much as I wanted to be a Solid Gold dancer, but that's a whole different post!).  I praise God for His provision over my life and for entrusting me with the incredible gift of children.  And as much as I would love to be able to slow the clock down, or maybe even stop it for a bit, I know I can't, so my prayer is that God will continue to show me how to be a purposeful mommy and to be intentional in truly living in every moment with my sweet birthday girls!

Whirlwind

Really...last post was in October?? Really?!  I don't have any good excuses as to why I haven't posted on here in so long other than it's been a whirlwind!  The last several months have literally flown by...In fact, I just realized last week that Lauren's 1st grade year is almost over!  And I'm so not ready for that because that means Meghan will soon be starting Kindergarten, and have I mentioned that I don't want to go there yet?!  Anyway, all of the pics posted today should get me caught up (September through February), and I hope to keep up a little bit better...I would even like to try to use this space for posting daily blessings, scriptures, etc.. that are an encouragement to me in this season of my life.  As I grow in my walk with God, I clearly see how He has, and is working in my life, through the good and the bad, and sometimes I just get so excited about it!  Right now, I'm reading What Difference Do It Make? by Ron Hall & Denver Moore (authors of Same Kind of Different as Me) and came across this quote "...sometimes you can only understand why things happen when you see them in the rearview mirror."  Love that because it is so true!  Until next time...Blessings!
