Jo Bros!!

What a super-fun night! My good friend, Becky, and I took our girls to see the Jonas Brothers when they were here in September...of course, this was Lauren & Meghan's 1st concert, with the exception of the Doodlebops we got to see live when Lauren was 4. All I can say is OMGoodness...we all had a great time! And we didn't just get to see the Jo Bros, but the Camp Rockers were there, too...Demi Lovato, MDot, Allyson Stoner, etc. I absolutely loved watching the expressions on the girls' faces as they got to see their favorite super-stars on stage! They've said they can't wait to do it again, although we may have to take some earplugs for them to wear for when the Jo Bros come out on stage...Wow!! I can't help but think did we really used to scream like that over N.K.O.T.B.? lol:)

1st Day of Kindergarten & 2nd Grade!

The first day of school was obviously very bittersweet for me...Lauren in 2nd grade, and my baby girl, Meghan, in Kindergarten!! I absolutely lost it when I saw my little Meggie in her school uniform for the first time...and it became an even sweeter moment because she just sat down in my lap and cried with me (sweet girl!). I am very thankful that they both love school so much and just feel so incredibly blessed that they can be in such a Christ-centered environment. God continues to bless our family in so many ways through CCS, oh, and their sweet sweet teachers...I just can't imagine them being anywhere else!

Lost!

Since our school doesn't start back until after Labor Day, we planned one last little summer hoorah after everyone else went back to school...we decided to get "lost" at Lost Pines (near Austin) for Labor Day weekend! This was our first time to Lost Pines and we absolutely loved it (we had only previously been to the one in San Antonio, which is Hyatt Hill Country)! It was such a nice, relaxing getaway...and the first two days we were there were so quiet because hardly anyone else was there! The girls loved having the waterslide all to themselves and we had to share the lazy river with maybe 10 other people...it was great! Our favorite tradition at these Hyatt resorts are the s'mores at the firepit every night...so yummy! One of the most memorable moments for us though was sharing some very exciting news with the girls over dinner...more to come on that soon;)

RoadTrippin'

Summer has come and gone, and it's already October...where does the time go? I've got a lot of catching up to do so thought I'd start with the roadtrip we took this summer to Arkansas and Iowa. As you'll notice, there aren't many photos at all from our time in Arkansas because I dropped my camera in the lake while we were jetskiing...I was SO bummed, as you know how I love my pictures! I happened to have my backup camera with me so I got the second half of the trip, and it was such a GREAT trip despite the camera mishap! We made some great memories as a family, which is always the best part (some we just have to remember in our minds now since there are no photos to look at :p), and we especially enjoyed our time with Ali, Jason and Chase in Iowa!
